AB  - With the decline of traditional defined benefit pensions, older workers and retirees need to decide how to deploy their savings to generate income that will last the rest of their lives. This article discusses how plan sponsors can utilize an analytical approach to designing, implementing, and communicating a retirement income menu in their DC retirement plans that complements the familiar investment menu. With such a menu, retiring workers can “check the box” to elect methods for converting their account balances into retirement income streams.TOPICS: Retirement, pension funds
